The Problem
Jaipur's gem, textile, and handicraft businesses export to buyers across the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Owners and sales teams think and write in Hindi, but buyers expect fluent English — in emails, WhatsApp messages, and product negotiations.
Current solutions: hiring English-speaking staff (expensive), Google Translate (inaccurate for business context), or just winging it (lost deals). One exporter told us he lost a $12K order because his reply "sounded rude" — it was just a bad translation.
What We Built
A conversational AI assistant powered by Anthropic Claude Sonnet that understands Hindi business context and produces professional English communication.
- Multi-mode output — formal emails, WhatsApp messages, negotiation replies, product inquiries
- Context-aware — maintains conversation history so follow-ups are coherent, not isolated translations
- Industry vocabulary — knows gem trade terms (kundan, meenakari, cabochon), textile terms (block print, bandhani), handicraft descriptions
- Tone detection — distinguishes between a polite decline, a firm negotiation, and a casual check-in
